The People's Republic of China has announced that it plans to land a man on the moon by 2020. "We will focus on deep space exploration," said Luan Enjie, director of the Chinese National Aerospace Bureau. "The first target selected is the moon." A government that has repeatedly said it has interests in the moon and Mars, China has now officially released information that it once held secret from the international press. The government said earlier that it would launch its second manned space flight within two years. Officials also said the government plans to create a manned space station in orbit.
