Today I activated the 404 error page. Now, when you click on any link, you'll be greeted by it instead of nothing. Check it out. Also, the beginning of the Red Phase page will be up soon, along with the Green and Blue Phase pages. Red Mars: Inspiration

The Main Phase page is up and under contstruction. While you're waiting, check out the novel Red Mars, by Kim Stanley Robinson, for which I credit the inspiration for this page. There are also 2 excellent sequels making it the best space colonization trilogy in history. Also, Link Exchange has been bringing in lots of hits. I'll post the URL for the public stats server as soon as I can.

Terraforming Section

MAJOR UPDATE: There is no longer a Main Phase section. Instead, there is now a terraforming section under the same file name, which will be used to discuss possible terraforming options. This has been changed due to the inability to maintain such a large database. The same information will be available in the different areas to the left. These pages are also navigatable at the top of each page. These smaller categories will offer more information than the previous Phases. Email me with any questions.

New Search Engine Feature

There's a quick search feature now on this site. You will be able to use it to search all of the information database once there is more information. Although it is actually functioning now, there's not much to search from yet. Please be patient. Also, the News Archive is up. Check it out.

Advanced Search

I've added an Advanced Search feature, powered by Please visit their site at right, as they offer a great service for webmasters. I'm working on the Mission Overview and I will try to continue down the list from there. As pages are completed, they will become bold. Also, I've submited to Yahoo.

Mission Images

The Martian Architecture section is up. I'll try to get the Chat section up, but I can't promise that yet. I'm getting a CD RW today and may not be able to do much more work. I've put in a request for some images high-tech images of a possible Mars colony. No word yet on if I will be able to use them. You can find the mission images here. Special thanks to Julian Baum.

Layout Changes

It took me forever but I changed around the front page. You'll see the navigation bar background has changed color. Also, I added some borders and invisible images to make things blend together. I want to remind everyone that this site is best viewed in 800x600 mode. 640X480 resolution does not show up properly, and the screen will appear very crowded. To change your resolution in Windows, right click on your desktop and click properties. Email me with any questions.

Web Developer Software

I've had the oppurtunity to get my hands on some web-developer software. There are lots of little changes that have taken place that I'm not going to go into detail about. The Mars Chat is not working yet, but on Thursday I hope to add a real chat from Talk City. Keep an eye out for any events that may take place there in the future.

Crew Section Up

The Crew section is up! Late update, I know, but at least it's finished. I've been making sure that the information I use is accurate and recent. If you find anything wrong with any information on this site, please email me immediately so I can update the database. All information here can be found from either NASA or one of the trusted Mars sites that I will post in the links section.

Today I added a Bibliography section in place of the Links section. Everywhere that I get information on the web will be posted there. Please read the heading on that page for more information. This is not a section where you can post your own site's URL. It is for information sources only.

Brief Hiatus

I'm going out of town for a week and things are going to have to be put on hold for while. I'm still awaiting the confirmation that I can add the Mars Chat to this page. If it comes today I'll try my best to put it up before I leave.

2003 Rover Mission

In a recent announcement NASA has send that they will send a larger cousin of the Mars Pathfinder along for a ride during the 2003 mission. There was a debate if an orbiter should be sent or another lander to compensate for the mission failures last year. Utilizing the drop, bounce, and roll technique, this will be the largest rover to ever land on the surface of Mars.
