Houghton-Mars Project
The Houghton-Mars Project is an international NASA-sponsored organization. It studies an impact crater in Devon Island, Canada, in the frozen north. Why? The Haughton crater is a Mars analog, a location in which many of its features closely resemble Mars. This allows NASA and the international scientific community to learn more about what Mars is like, and to study the effectiveness of new equipment and ideas. For more information, visit
www.arctic-mars.org
. You may also view a Quicktime Virtual Reality
panorama
of the research sites, also from the Houghton-Mars Project.
